‘Experienced, empathetic and extremely knowledgeable’ ‘deeply invested’.

I’m lucky enough to have known Bernice for over 20 years, in both a personal and professional capacity and I truly cannot speak highly enough of her and her skills as a lactation consultant. When I had my son in 2022, I knew that I wanted to try to breastfeed but had very little idea of what this actually entailed.  Thankfully, I had Bernice on hand to explain and demonstrate everything from correct latch and different feeding positions to advice on pumping and pace feeding as well as guiding me through the difficult periods we experienced in our breastfeeding journey. She is experienced, empathetic and extremely knowledgeable and it’s in part due to her help and care that I was able to exclusively breastfeed my son for 18 months, a truly wonderful experience which I cherished every moment of (well…nearly every moment!). I’m currently due my second baby and would absolutely not hesitate to seek Bernice’s services as a lactation consultant if needed, I struggle to think of anyone else I know who is so deeply invested in her role and the ladies she helps, and cannot thank her enough for all she did for me in my early post partum days.

To say that Bernice saved my breastfeeding journey isn’t dramatic. I can’t thank her enough for helping me and my daughter get established with feeding so we could enjoy 12 wonderful months of breastfeeding. 

After coming home from hospital, I was really struggling with feeding and didn’t know where to turn. Friends and family were trying their best to guide me, but it felt impossible, especially during the broken sleep. Bernice provided support over the phone as well as coming to visit me. During her visit, she diagnosed a suspected tongue tie and referred us for an appointment as well as providing nipple shields which genuinely saved my breastfeeding journey.  

I was desperate to breastfeed my baby but I found the pain too much so the shields allowed relief whilst things settled down and both baby and I got used to the right technique. 

I’d recommend Bernice to anyone. She’s incredibly knowledgable, experienced and just a lovely person. She will make all the difference to anyone looking for breastfeeding support.

Bernice’s knowledge and expertise were invaluable when I was learning how to breastfeed my little one. Her knowledge and guidance enabled us to successfully solely breastfeed and 13months down the line we are still going strong. Her tips about how to gain a deep latch, hand express, to which bra to wear were all golden pieces of info to help our journey.
