A little bit about me..
I've been a midwife for over ten years, training at
Northumbria University from 2010 to 2013.
After qualifying, I headed to a large maternity unit in Bradford to broaden my experience. Working across many areas before finding my love for the community and supporting families in the heart of the city - where I learnt so much about resilience, compassion and the power of continuity.
In 2016 I returned home to Cumbria and continued to follow my heart into community midwifery and birth centre work - with a special passion for infant feeding.
In 2021 I got my dream job as Infant Feeding Lead and became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2022. This role consisted of providing specialist infant feeding care, supporting staff and working strategically to make things better in the infant feeding world for families in Cumbria until 2025, when I decided it was time for a new chapter.
I am now the face of Lakes and Dales Lactation Consultant which fits around my own little ones - two gorgeous children, both breastfed, both feeding journeys being very different.
Even with all my training I've faced my own challenges (continuing to feed my youngest today) which is why empathy is truly my superpower.
Now, that brings me to you and your family - whether you're preparing for birth or navigating the early weeks or months, or years!
My approach is warm, non- judgemental, personalised, evidence based and always tailored to your wishes. However your journey looks, I'll walk it with you.
